About

xmark/builds is an independent web studio. This site is our workshop: the place where the webapps, tools, and websites we build all live in one spot. Some of it is polished and shipped, some of it is a half-finished experiment we're still poking at. We'd rather put work out in the open and improve it than wait for it to be perfect.

What this site is

xmark/builds is a project portfolio and build log. For each thing we make, we want more than a link — we want a short, honest write-up: what the project is, who it's for, why we made it, the stack we used, and what we learned along the way (including the parts that didn't work). The goal is that someone landing here can actually understand the project, not just bounce off a screenshot.

What we build

Most of our work falls into three buckets, which is exactly how the projects on the home page are tagged:

How we work

We work mostly with Python for data and back-end logic and React for interfaces, plus whatever a given project genuinely needs. Lately we're most interested in stock-data analysis and interactive web apps — taking messy, intimidating data and turning it into something you can actually look at and reason about. We like small surface areas, fast feedback loops, and shipping early.

Collaboration & inquiries

We're open to collaboration and business inquiries. If something here looks useful, you have a project in mind, or you just want to compare notes on a build, our inbox is open — head to the contact page or email [email protected].

Looking for the projects themselves? They're on the home page, filterable by webapp, website, or tool.
